We are living in times of deep transformations. International research collaboration remains vitally important to meet the challenges we face as global societies. At the same time, geopolitical shifts are influencing how governments and institutions view international collaborations and how and with whom researchers cooperate. What is the impact of these current developments on organizations, institutions, and individuals? What can the United States and Germany learn from each other? What role can science diplomacy play in supporting international collaboration and informing policy on both sides of the Atlantic?
